Assistant Josh x (gn) Teacher reader
There's so much trauma in my life. I've been so cold to the ones who loved me, baby. ā€” Out of Time by The weeknd
SMUT ONE SHOT | MDNI | +18
Tumblr media
WARNING: Sexual tension | Jealous reader | Voyeurism (?) | oral sex to reader | penetration | in the middle of sex love confession and rambles | Porn with plot | Not proofread (literally did not revised this once so, shitty probably) | ā€˜funnyā€™ part at the end. | terrible reference to star wars. | no use of y/n. | quicky
Backstory: Josh, a time traveler and savior of the world, has found himself stuck in the early 2000s and has become a teacher's assistant. Despite his best efforts to keep his distance from you, the teacher he is assisting, Josh finds himself irresistibly drawn to you. leading Josh on a journey of self-discovery and romance as he tries to navigate this new timeline.
The classroom was filled with the sound of students chattering. The hum of conversation and your voice fills the air, punctuated by the occasional clatter of papers and the shuffling of chairs. A faint scent of coffee and ink permeates the room, mingling with the soft glow of fluorescent lights overhead.
You were In front of the board, carefully going over the lecture, trying not to leave any detail behind. Next to you, there was your assistant, Josh, seated on the desk.
As usual, he paid attention to the lesson as if he was one of the students. He bit into the base of his pen, eyes scanning the board and its content, eventually landing in your hands. Admiring the softness and delicate moves they made.
Consumed by his pent-up desires, Josh's mind drifted, painting vivid scenarios where your skilled hands explored his body, tracing the contours and caressing every inch he craved.
Is not that Josh didnā€™t have game, on the contrary, multiple staff members and students flirted with him from time to time, but he fully decided to be celibate.
Did he hate it? Of course, years, or to better say, centuries ago, he was a sex god in ā€˜Hevenā€™, and now he is forcing himself to not have any type of intercourse. He didnā€™t want to get attached to someone.
It would be hard to explain the traumas and adventures he gained from saving the world with Wolf and Tiger. He didnā€™t even attempt to make friends, he was too scared to slip up things from the future to a person living in the year 2002. He was way too fearful of the repercussions. What if he ends up in those TV shows about crazy people, or even worse, a mental institute?
So, he found comfort in spacing out, imagining a retro (to himself at least) suburbian life with you, never daring to get too close.
He shifted his head, the motion accompanied by a deep groan, the weight of his unfulfilled desires bearing down on him. An innocent student's gaze caught him off guard, snapping him out of his reverie, a reminder that the world continued without regard for his internal struggles.
ā€˜Did he notice? Did heā€¦ read my mind? Well, thatā€™s embarrassing.ā€™ He thought.
With an awkward cough, Josh stood straight and adjusted his gray polo, trying to remain calm. His eyes drifted to the white clock on the wall and gave you the subtle signal that it was time to end the class.
ā€œAlright class please remember, this is our last lesson. The final is tomorrow, so I beg each of you to study so you can pass the class.ā€
At your final announcement, you turned your head to the side, seeing Joshā€™s cheeks turning a rosy shade of pink as some of your students approached him with gifts. Some students handed him letters, and gift bags, while others brought food and candy.
The assistant mumbled his thanks, feeling a mixture of gratitude and self-consciousness as he accepted each gift. His body language was noticeably reserved, with his shoulders hunched and eyes darting around the room as if wishing to disappear into the background. Despite his shyness, he managed a small smile for each student who approached him, clearly touched by the gesture.
As the last student handed over a small gift and bid farewell, you found yourself walking up to your assistant. Your eyes lingered on the array of gift bags, specifically the soft pink one with a bow. A bitter taste filled your mouth as you tried to mask the annoyance you felt.
"Looks like you're quite popular," you quipped, forcing a smile.
ā€œOh no. They were just being nice.ā€ Josh's index finger tapped into the bag you had your eyes on, filling in the awkward silence as he bit his lip.
Josh wanted to say more, but he couldn't find the words. His dirty mind conjured up fantasies of what he could do to you, right there in the classroom, but he quickly dismissed them. He was just an assistant, after all. Yet, he couldn't stop his eyes from trailing up and down your body, taking in every curve and every inch.
ā€œWell.ā€ You said, ā€œLetā€™s go to my office.ā€ With that, you cleaned the board, before gathering your things and walked right next to your assistant.
Once you entered your office, he shut the door behind you, the sound echoing in his ears. He couldn't help but notice how the room felt like a shrine dedicated to you. Pictures, certificates, and awards decorated the walls while your desk was clean and organized.
Seated across from you, fidgeting in his chair, the tension in the room clear. A wicked grin spread across his face as he imagined sliding his hands up your thighs, feeling the warmth of your skin beneath the material of your underwear. The thought made his pulse race, and he couldn't help but shift in his seat to adjust himself discreetly.
Professional decorum clashed with the urge to act on his fantasies, but for now, he managed to keep up the ruse. He began grading the papers, nodding to himself as he read through the work.
Ever since the work party he was forced to go to, things have been awkward between you both. That night was the most he ever spoke to you, his drunk self slipping stuff he probably shouldn't have said, but he was lucky enough that both of you were out of your minds that night.
So out of your minds that, you almost kissed before Josh pulled away. Yes, it was bad, and he felt like an asshole, but it was for the better, and you knew that too. However, Josh still holds onto the thought you might like him back, and he's happy with that.
Your gaze lingered on the bags of gifts, trying to guess what they had inside. His eyes followed yours, smirking before you spoke.
ā€œWhatā€™s in the bag anyways?ā€
"Oh, just the usual," he replied nonchalantly, reaching for the pink ribboned bag.
He pulled out a small box, the sweet aroma of strawberries and chocolate wafting through the air. "Strawberries," he began, lifting the lid to reveal the fruit coated in chocolate.
ā€œAt that point whoever gave you that should just confess to you already.ā€
You knew how your comment came across as that wasnā€™t your intention but who gives a gift like that to an assistant? No one unless they have ulterior motives.
Your snicker and roll of your eyes piqued his interest, and when you suggested that the students could just confess to him, he couldn't help but feel flushed with excitement. Your reactions hinted at something more than just the silent professional interest agreed upon, and he couldn't help but hope that you were feeling something akin to his desires. That this was meant to be, that maybe, just maybe, he will get his happy ending after all.
Josh's confidence soared as he plucked a strawberry from the box, savoring its sweetness, and allowing the chocolate to melt on his tongue. He relished the moment, exaggerating his sounds of pleasure, intentionally teasing you with the sensual display.
As his lips wrapped around the fruit, you couldn't help but feel a surge of heat spreading through your body, your ears reddening with each tantalizing moan. The way he held your gaze, a mischievous glint in his shiny brown eyes, only served to grow your desire.
Leaning closer to your desk, Josh held another strawberry out to you, beckoning you with a grin, "C'mon, you deserve it.ā€
You hesitated for a moment, shaking your head, the lingering resentment and unease preventing you from accepting the strawberry.
Josh, undeterred, approached you, his steps confident as he took a position directly in front of you. One arm rested casually on your desk, while the other extended the strawberry tantalizingly close to your lips.
His proximity left you feeling uneasy, a mixture of nerves and arousal warring within you. As he offered you the fruit once more, he repeated his invitation, a wicked glint in his eyes. "Enjoy the fruits of your labor," he whispered, his voice a seductive caress.
Your body trembled under the weight of his gaze, the challenge he laid before you clear as day.
"Josh..." You mumbled under your breath, your gaze meeting his, and you could see the hunger in his eyes. It mirrored your internal turmoil, the pull towards him growing stronger by the second.
Your indecision was evident, and Josh could sense your struggle. ā€œCā€™mon,ā€ Josh smirked, drawing even closer, the chocolate-coated fruit dancing on your lips. "Be good and take it for me."
You swallowed hard, a wave of nerves washing over you, before opening your mouth obediently to accept the offering. You nibbled at the strawberry, trying to eat it slowly and maintain your composure, avoiding direct eye contact.
However, Josh was having none of that. He grasped your chin firmly, tilting it upwards, forcing you to meet his gaze.
"That's it." He encouraged the satisfaction in his voice. His eyes lingered on you, committing the scene to memory, as the evidence of his arousal strained against his pants.
With bated breath, you slowly withdrew your lips from the strawberry, the lingering taste of sweet fruit coating your tongue. A pang of jealousy flared within you, knowing that this delight was originally meant for Josh.
An uncomfortable silence settled between you, both of you unsure of how to proceed. In Josh's mind, he wrestled with the turmoil of his desires, the allure of crossing this boundary he made for himself proving too powerful to resist.
Closing the gap between you, he pressed his lips to yours, the kiss gentle, sweet, and innocent. As your lips parted, you could taste the remnants of the strawberry and chocolate within, a sensory delight that left you breathless.
Josh's hand cradled the side of your face, his touch both comforting and arousing. Simultaneously, he unzipped his pants, his arousal apparent and urgent. The realization of his intentions sent a shiver down your spine.
Just as you began to contemplate what would come next, Josh nipped at your bottom lip, causing a startled, wanton moan to escape your lips. His mouth trailed along your jawline, sending shivers rippling through your body like wildfire.
With trembling hands, you pushed Josh away, your voice wavering as you stammered, "Josh, this is wrong."
His expression blank, he tilted his head, clearly surprised by your refusal. "Because...", you hesitated, exhaling deeply, "we're coworkers and you're my assistant."
Undeterred, Josh leaned even closer, resting his hand on the desk. His doe-eyed gaze bore into you, pleading and disarming.
"I understand that, but...", he began, "there's only a one-year age difference between us. You started teaching here twoā€¦ or three years ago, and I joined the training program a little over a year ago. It's not a significant gap."
His intensity increased as he brought his face nearer to yours, his hand tracing the collar of your shirt. His gaze flickered between your neck and your lips, laden with a potent mixture of desire and determination.
"And I really want this."
As if reading your indecision, Josh offered a tempting proposition, "You know, since your students think I was so helpful and even gave me gifts... don't you think I also deserve a gift from the teacher?"
Feeling the warmth of his breath against your skin, you were unable to ignore the raw appeal of his pleading gaze. A crippling combination of logic and desire, acknowledging that you were both consenting adults, threatened to break down your defenses.
Despite the fear and accelerating adrenaline coursing through your veins, you found yourself nodding, giving the green light. With unwavering resolve, Josh seized the moment, his lips seeking out the vulnerable expanse of your neck, nibbling hungrily.
As his hands deftly unbuttoned your blouse, you held tightly to the armrests of your chair, feeling the faint sting of the impending. You allowed him to indulge in his desires, silently acknowledging that he had harbored these feelings for quite some time by the way he was acting.
Lost in the spell of Josh's nearness, you were only vaguely aware of the commotion as papers and pens met the floor, the sound eclipsed by the tempest of emotions coursing through you.
Josh's movements, purposeful yet controlled, lifted you gently, depositing you on the desktop with a tenderness that matched the fervor in his eyes.
He stepped back, the hunger in his gaze unapologetic, as if you were the rarest gem in existence, a treasure coveted above all others.
ā€œYou are so beautiful.ā€ He breathed out.
Licking his lips nervously, Josh closed the gap between you, his kiss tracing the curve of your shoulder as his hand continued to explore your body. Moving downward, his lips trailed along your chest, and ribcage, and finally reached to your thighs.
Meeting your gaze with a smug, self-satisfied smirk, Josh murmured, "You know... you deserve a good treat too."
His hand trembled as it snaked its way to your waistband, hesitating for a brief moment before liberating you from the confines of your garment. All that remained now was your underwear, a thin barrier between you and the intense desire simmering between you.
A pulse of anxiety shot through your veins. Was this right? The thought of having your hot assistant intimately nestled between your thighs seemed both appealing and alarming.
ā€œYou donā€™tā€”ā€œ
Before you could voice your uncertainty, Josh preempted your concern. "I want to," he whispered, his breath warm against your skin.
"I want to so... so badly," he confessed, his lips dampening the fabric of your undergarments, betraying his eagerness.
You felt the vibrations of Josh's soft chuckle reverberate against your skin through the thin, damp fabric, causing your back to arch involuntarily.
ā€œStay still, alright?" he ordered, gripping your hips firmly. His teeth nipped at the edge of your underwear, sliding it down your legs with ease.
The overwhelming combination of pleasure and nerves left your body trembling, an involuntary reaction to the intensity of the situation.
Letting go of you, Josh moved to one of the desk cabinets, retrieving a ruler. He lifted the object, bringing it to eye-level with you.
"Told you not to move. Let's try that again, okay?" His commanding tone, paired with the unconventional implement, caught you off guard.
What had once been a modest, shy coworker now stood before you transformed into an irresistible embodiment of sexual desire. Your mind reeled at the sudden transformation, struggling to process how this turn of events came to pass.
"Okay... sorry," you stammered, your voice betrayed by the turbulent mix of excitement and nervousness.
Josh's reassuring words washed over you, "Shhh, it's okay." His lips found their way to the warm expanse between your thighs, trailing soft, wet kisses. The tender intimacy of his actions sent shivers coursing through your body.
Anxiety crept into his voice as he hesitated, "Iā€”," his confession hung heavy in the air. "I haven't done this in decades... I mean years!" He cursed himself under his breath, eyes meeting yours with pleading vulnerability.
"Sorry if I'm not as good as you'll want me to be," he apologized sheepishly before resuming his exploration, his mouth filled with the taste of you.
Arching your back, you reveled in the pleasure of his skilled ministrations. Winding your fingers in his damp hair, you gently tugged, and a moan escaped his lips. Encouraged by his response, you pulled harder, grinning wickedly.
"Mmh, yes, please! Fuck. Pull my fucking hair, please."
The sound of footsteps in the corridor startled you, a surge of panic sending shivers down your spine. Frantic, you forced Josh's head further between your legs, the urgent need for silence overriding any other considerations.
"Shhh, shh!" you hissed, glancing towards the door, pleading for divine intervention to conceal your transgression.
Josh's focus, however, was entirely on the task at hand. His muffled words were swallowed by a fervent desire to savor the taste of you. A trail of saliva clung to his chin, a testament to his relentless enthusiasm. His mouth, lips, and tongue worshiped you with the desperation of a man starved for affection.
His whimpering, praises, and wet, slurping sounds filled the room, each moment amplifying the crescendo of pleasure. The realization of his prolonged abstinence did little to quell the heat emanating from your core.
On the brink of ecstasy, your legs trembled with the strain of resisting the imminent climax.
"J...Josh?" you called out, gently tugging his hair to draw his attention away from his task. His face, glistening with perspiration and droplets of saliva, met your gaze, his eyes gleaming with an intensity borne from devotion.
At that moment, you found yourself smitten by his earnestness. "Can we try something different?" you asked, unable to resist the curiosity kindling in your psyche.
A smirk spread across Josh's face, his hands gripping your thighs tightly as he nodded in affirmation.
Positioning you, he laid your back against the wooden surface of the desk, your fingers fidgeting nervously as you watched him hastily attempt to remove his pants. The task proved more arduous than anticipated, eliciting a small chuckle from you.
Josh's breath hitched, "You're so hot, fuck," he muttered, his hand stroking himself as his lips pressed a searing kiss to your entrance.
Teasing you mercilessly, he moved his hips, the tip of his erection teasing your slick opening. You whimpered in frustration.
"Stop being a tease," you demanded, annoyed and embarrassed by his playful torment.
"You're right, sorry," he admitted, flushing a deep shade of red. "I've, Iā€”" He groaned, cursing under his breath. "Fuck."
Josh's gaze held yours, sincerity etched into his features. "I like you. I don't think I ever liked someone like this before. You're so hot and smart, I love your voice, how you explain stuff to me without making me feel like an idiot and your humor." His smile was tender, genuine.
"I love your laugh too, even if you hate it. And, fuck, I've been... I imagined us like this but not, not like this, like this, you know?"
His brow furrowed, lips biting into his bottom lip. "I ruined it, didn't I?" Concern lurked beneath his words.
You chuckled, reaching out to trace your fingertips along his cheek, "Yeah, and you were so good at keeping the dominant role earlier." Admittedly, you found his vulnerability endearing.
"I like you, and I've thought of this too," you confessed, your heart pounding in your chest with every whispered syllable.
Your tone shifted, growing more serious, "To be honest, that gift pissed me off."
Josh's reaction to your accusation was immediate, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "The strawberries? Yeah, I could tell."
His admission confirmed your suspicions, and with a playful scoff, you retorted, "Asshole."
You beat his shoulder lightly with feigned aggression, laughter echoing through the room.
"Out of all the gifts Iā€™ve gotten tonight, no, out of all the gifts Iā€™ve had, ever," Josh began, "you're the best one.ā€ He said before thinking deeply. ā€œWell, no, you're the second. The first one was when I got a signed DVD of Star Wars, Episode Seven: The Force Awakens."
Confusion clouded your expression, "Episode seven?"
Josh stammered, realizing you wouldn't comprehend the reference to a film that, for you, was lightyears ahead.
"Uhm... forget it. I was joking since you know." A nervous laugh followed his retreat. "Anyways, where were we? Oh, yeah, fucking! Uhm.ā€
Time to reveal he was from the future, his adventures, saving the world, and landing in 2000ā€”it was a story better suited for the future.
Josh seized the moment, thrusting into you with urgency. The distraction worked, the sudden invasion of his sizable girth stealing your breath.
It took a moment for both of you to adjust to the sensation, the newfound closeness offering a liberating sense of.
"You're tight," Josh reed with unbridled pride, his hands capturing your wrists in a firm grip. "I'll start," he promised, granting you a brief moment of surrender.
A nod from you signaled your consent, allowing him to begin the rhythmic thrusts that filled you with his length. Pain, sharp and undeniable, punctuated the sensations, but the pleasure outweighed the discomfort.
"Fuck," you cried out, teary eyes meeting his.
"Hold onto me," Josh commanded, his voice raw and insistent. Your nails dug into his skin with a vengeance, and the resulting grunt of satisfaction was the only response he needed.
The intensity of the act, coupled with the nearness of your bodies, left you at a loss for words. "Like that?" he inquired, and though the question seemed redundant, the sensation of his cock stretching you open left you incapable of verbal acknowledgment.
The room was suffused with the erotic symphony of skin slapping against skin, heavy breathing, and the occasional grunt or moan. In this dance of passion, the unspoken understanding between the two of you spoke volumes, every thrust cementing the bond between you.
"Let me go faster, please," Josh whined, craving the release that only complete surrender could offer.
You whimpered, uncertainty lacing your response, "I don't... I don't think I can handle that, Josh." The creaking of the desk mirrored the strain of the moment.
Desperation colored his voice as he pleaded, "Please, please. I'll be good, you'll like it. Please."
In response, you groaned, "Fine. Just because we need to finish grading." Despite the flimsy excuse, the promise of gratification following the completion of your task hung in the air.
A triumphant grin spread across Josh's face, "After that, you can have me as much as you want," he promised, holding you firmly as he thrust deeper, his cock filling and emptying you in a rhythm of pleasure and longing.
The edge of climax ebbed closer, winding its way through your veins. You found yourself pressing your head into his neck, biting him unintentionally.
"Mmh, gonna cum," Josh warned, his orgasm imminent. With a powerful surge, he filled you, the warmth of his release enveloping you.
Exhausted, the two of you stood there, your breaths coming in ragged gasps. Disheveled and sweat-drenched, you looked at each other, the weight of the moments heavy in the air.
Recovering enough to speak, you fumbled for the right words, "Let's uhm..." Your voice trailed off, replaced by an awkward suggestion, "Let's get grading, shall we?"
You climbed off the desk and started gathering your clothes from the floor, Josh following suit as he laughed softly. Dressing hurriedly, you both resumed your roles as teacher and assistant, submitting to the mundane task before you.
ā€¦
The day of the final exam dawned, and as you explained the rules and addressed student queries, your concentration wavered. Two students, oblivious to your displeasure, engaged in hushed conversation while you spoke.
In a moment of synchronized understanding, you locked eyes with Josh, who wasted no time in addressing the situation.
He strode towards the offending students, leaning casually on their table. "Guys, please keep it down," he requested softly, the authority in his tone leaving no room for argument. With a single nod, he continued to monitor other students.
Once he moved away, the culprits exchanged glances, one of them whispering, "Did you see the hickey or am I crazy?"
The other nodded, unable to deny the evidence of their own eyes, replying, "I saw it."
The students' curiosity piqued, and their gazes shifted between you and Josh, zeroing in on your choice of clothing: turtlenecks on an otherwise scorching day. The unspoken implications danced in their minds.
ā€œThey slept together!?ā€
Crossing your arms, you fixed your gaze on the offenders, your voice dripping with sarcasm, "Care to share with everyone?"
Embarrassed, they quickly retracted, "No. Sorry." Giggles threatened to escape, but they struggled to suppress them, the cat now firmly out of the bag.
One student voiced her thoughts aloud, "Why does the class get interesting on the last day?" A sentiment echoed in the covert smiles and furtive glances shared by those around her.

Sorry about the wait, I had a six day work week.
Please Note: Many respondents said they weren't sure of the cause of their fetish, and could only offer suggestions. So again, some of these answers are guesses on the part of participants, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Also, a couple of these graphs are breakdowns by percentage, these are indicated with a '(%)' next to the title
Reported Causes of Respondents' Fetish (%)
Tumblr media
*Most respondents who said their fetish stemmed from encountering a pregnant person were young children at the time, a handful were teens. None were adults. Most pointed to pregnant grade school teachers and family members. Only a few cited complete strangers.

Things like the first picture of a naked woman they ever saw being of a pregnant woman, leading them to subconsciously associate pregnancy with sex/sexuality.
*"playing pretend" refers to those who reported developing the fetish after playing pretend (either with dolls or with friends) as young children. NOT TO BE confused with those who claimed they would explore their interest/fetish through play, but didn't actually derive it from said play.

This video is about Star Wars... apparently.
youtube
Once again, if you don't know me, I'm what Lily would refer to as a Star Wars weeb. I live, breathe, and shit Star Wars. You got it? Good. Let's dig in.
Now, this can't be a Lily Orchard video without her complaining about the thing she claims to love. Now, I have my own problems with the sequel series, mostly that I found it boring and a wasted opportunity to do something a bit different and interesting and felt that they pushed a black man to make room for a white woman. Hell, my siblings even told me that for a week, it was just none stop complaining about Disney owning Star Wars I think the only reason I started to go a bit easy and shut up was when star wars rebels came out but I'll get into my own acceptance of Disney canon in a separate post.
To her credit, she talks about how universal Star Wars is, how it has something for everyone, and if you're someone like me a shit ton of stuff to take all of the money from your account but now we come to Lily not understanding how things work.
She goes into a rant about how streaming services are killing movies and just regularly TV watching, which is true, yes. She's uses Matt Damon's views on streaming she then talks about her all-time favorite movie and the reason she pushes for low stakes storytelling from that time period called John Q. From 2002 which if you don't know, it's about a father who holds a hospital hostage at Gun Point to get them to help his son, who needs a life-threatening heart surgery.
Despite the title, this video has nothing to do with Star Wars. it's more about streaming services with a spit of Star Wars. From 8:37 to 14:48 is nothing about Star Wars and all about streaming and low stakes over high stakes. Despite that, I would argue that John Q, while being more a personal movie of a father desperate to save his son, is a high stakes situation. High stakes storytelling isn't just "The fate of the universe is at risk," and low stakes storytelling isn't just personal drama. John Q stakes are pretty high with taking an emergency hospital hostage where everyone could die if not treated, and the best case scenario for the main character is his son getting treatment while he goes to prison and the worst case being he dies with his son. I hate to break it to you Lily but the movie you say is your all time favorite is a fucking high stakes movie.
Finally, getting back to fucking Star wars. She brings up how Star Wars is a pretty low stakes series simply because of how the story is overshadowed by the family drama that is the Skywalker family, which is turn. I would say that Star Wars can be pretty low stakes, but I wouldn't stay that it is. She talks about clone wars, the "patron saint of the annoying darkness obsessed Fanboys" (A.K.A me) has plenty of episodes of that dig deep into the rot and corruption of the republic and the jedi order but that those are dwarfed by the focus of Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship pointing out that that episode was the series most hard hitting to the fans which is true anyone who watched that episode can tell you they cried their eyes out but that's mostly because that really left an impact on Anakin and one could argue is that's what really made him question the order and when you go back to watch Anakin's descent it makes it all the more heart breaking.
We all know Lily hates serialized TV that's no secret or surprise she'd much rather watch a sitcom over anything else, but the thing is, but she treats serialized shows as moldy bread using the Ahsoka show as an example of losing characters and losing moments for the story to breathe and the fun episodes that do nothing but flesh out a character never mind the fact that Ahsoka and Sabine don't need to have their character fleshed out we already saw that in rebels for Sabine and CW for Ahsoka. I find it kinda funny that she doesn't like the Ahsoka show when that was the lowest stakes show she could ask for a teacher and a student getting back together to help find Ezra while 2 dark side users are also trying to find him so they can find Thrawn hell she even has some lesbians to obsess over but they focus on the force for to long and has too many samurai references dispirit the fact that...
The Jedi are basically samurai!
The jedi takes inspiration from monks and Samurais, so no Lily. Dave filoni isn't some secret Weeb. Blame Lucas if you have to
Something I found interesting is Lily using M*A*S*H and other sitcoms saying they have some depth to them, but we her critics can't see that past the laugh track saying how her favorite All in the Family did a good job talking about drag queens while taking a dump on Rocky horror for their drag queens. Now I haven't seen all in the family or Rocky horror (and I don't plan to), but I have seen M*A*S*H, which is a good sitcom it's pretty funny and a prime example of "laughter is the best medicine" or "if you don't laugh, you'll cry." If you don't know what M*A*S*H is, it's a 70s (1972 to 1983) sitcom that takes place in a medical tent during the Korean War with most of the episodes being about the main group of characters trying to go home but whacky hijinks get in the way the show is all dark humor. Little fun fact if you didn't fall asleep during history class, M*A*S*H was made three years before the Vietnam War had ended, so people didn't care for it until 1974 and you don't have to he a genius to know why it's loved now.
Lilyā€™s main problem with Star Wars is that she's living in the past and won't move forward, and she can't expect that not everyone likes what she likes. Sure, Solo was a flop, but there are still some people who like it.
There is no such thing as peak fiction also applies to Lily herself.

Morgan Spurlock
American film-maker best known for his acclaimed 2004 documentary Super Size Me
Few film-makers can say that their work has made a change to the real world, but Morgan Spurlock had a stronger claim than most. His 2004 documentaryĀ Super Size Me, an exposĆ© of how the fast food industry was fuelling Americaā€™s obesity epidemic, appeared to have direct repercussions for the worldā€™s largest fast food chain, McDonaldā€™s.
Shortly before the film came out in May that year, the company introduced its Go Active! menu, which included salad items; six weeks after its release, the company abolished its supersize portions entirely.
McDonaldā€™s claimed these menu changes were a coincidence. But the director, whoĀ has died aged 53Ā of complications from cancer, struck a timely blow at the business when awareness about fast foodā€™s corrosive role in public health was on the rise.
Super Size Meā€™s high-concept premise ā€“ eating three McDonaldā€™s meals for 30 days straight ā€“ was key to conveying Spurlockā€™s message. With the director gaining 11kg, plumping out his body fat from 11% to 18% and inflicting heart palpitations, impotence and depression on himself, his gonzo approach put him at the forefront of the early noughties boom in cinematic documentaries instigated byĀ Michael Moore. ā€œThereā€™s real power in a documentary,ā€Spurlock later said.
Doubts later emerged about Spurlockā€™s experiment in bodily attrition, after he refused to release his diet logs from the period; and then when it later emerged that he was an alcoholic who had also imbibed during the shoot.
An inveterate attention-seeker and twinkly-eyed showman, he was not going to let these details affect either the purity of Super Size Meā€™s marketing line, or his emerging career as a documentary star; a budding Moore for the Jackass generation. He would consistently target totems of modern capitalism and consumerism, though none of his subsequent works had the same kind of influence as his 2004 lightning-bottler.
Spurlock was born in Parkersburg,Ā West Virginia, and grew up in Beckley in the Methodist household of his auto-repair shop-owning father Ben and mother Phyllis, an English teacher and high-school counsellor. Though his parents later divorced, he credited his mother in particular with instilling in him a sense of activism: ā€œShe was one of those people who speak up when she didnā€™t agree with things. She was a collector of people too: if you had the ability to help people, you should,ā€ he told the International Documentary Association.
A childhood fan of British humour such as Fawlty Towers and Monty Python, he was already exercising his entertainerā€™s streak doing ā€œfunny walksā€ around the house aged six or seven.
Rejected five times by University of Southern Californiaā€™s film school, he graduated from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts in 1993. ā€œI wanted to be Spielberg. I wanted to write and direct scripted movies,ā€ Spurlock told Interview magazine. He originally showed promise in this direction, winning an award for his stage play The Phoenix at the New York international fringe festival in 1999.
After stints as a personal assistant on Woody Allenā€™s Bullets Over Broadway and Luc Bessonā€™s Leon (both 1994), Spurlock first stepped in front of camera as a promotional spokesman for Sony Electronics. But his breakthrough came though hitching himself to the reality TV bandwagon with the self-created internet webcast, and, later (in 2002),Ā MTVĀ show, I Bet You Will. As one of the presenting team, Spurlock goaded members of the public into humiliating themselves for money ā€“ with stunts such as being ā€œwedgiedā€ or eating a worm burrito.
Super Size Me grossed $22m on a $65,000 budget, making it one of the most profitable documentaries of all time. Spurlock believed his body never fully recovered ā€“ though he lost the weight thanks to a special diet concocted by his then girlfriend, the vegan chefĀ Alex JamiesonĀ (the pair married and had a son, Laken, in 2006, before divorcing in 2011; Spurlock had been previously married to Priscilla Somer between 1996 and 2003).
He also later expressed doubts about the longer-term impact of Super Size Me on fast food corporations, later reflecting: ā€œPeople say to me, ā€˜So has the food gotten healthier?ā€™ And I say, ā€˜Well, the marketing sure has.ā€™ā€
Spurlock could not skewer the zeitgeist again to create a second ā€œdoc-busterā€, despite tilting at big-hitter topics such as terrorism (in 2008ā€™sĀ Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?) and product-placement and advertising (POM Wonderful Presents: the Greatest Movie Ever SoldĀ in 2011). With his trademark handlebar moustache, he settled into a reliably affable front-of-camera presence nosing around socio-cultural issues and foibles ā€“ sometimes fatuously.
In total, he directed and produced nearly 70 films and series, including aĀ One Direction hagiographyĀ in 2013 and aĀ Super Size Me sequelĀ in 2017. But he retained keen business sense and marketing nous throughout this prolific output. ā€œHe taught us that we have to be chief executive artists,ā€ his fellow documentary-maker Ondi Timoner told Variety.
Towards the end of Spurlockā€™s life, his career was on hold after he confessed inĀ a 2017 blogpostĀ to sexually abusive behaviour, including an allegation of rape while at college and paying off a production assistant he had harassed. ā€œI have been unfaithful to every wife and girlfriend I have ever had,ā€ he also wrote, explaining he had been sexually abused in his youth. He divulged all this possibly pre-emptively in anticipation of future accusations in the up swell of the #MeToo movement.
Making himself the focus of the story was true to his modus operandi, and his professed desire for self-improvement could indeed have made a fascinating documentary.
But the mea culpa proved an effective self-cancellation, with him resigning from the production company, Warrior Poets, he had founded in 2004 and being sued by Turner Entertainment Networks for an aborted project.
He divorced his third wife, the producer Sara Bernstein ā€“ with whom he had a second son ā€“ in 2024. His final documentary credit was for a mockumentary creating a fake history around the classic 1992 Simpsons episode Homer at the Bat.
Spurlock is survived by his children, Laken and Kallen, by his parents and his brothers, Craig and Barry.

Happy Birthday Scottish singer Susan Boyle.
Susan was born on April 1st 1961, in Blackburn, West Lothian, her father, Patrick Boyle, was a miner and WWII veteran. Her mother, Bridget, was a shorthand typist. Susan, the youngest of eight surviving children, was deprived of oxygen at birth long enough to cause mild brain damage. The physical trauma created learning disabilities for the young girl. Susan grew up in a musical family her father sang, and her mother sang and played the piano and she found comfort in music at an early age.
An industrial town of fewer than 5,000 people, Blackburn was hardly a place to nurture the young Susanā€™s musical interests. School wasnā€™t a refuge for Boyle either; at school she was diagnosed with learning difficulties, and she became a target for bullies. She was often mocked, and her peers called her ā€œSimple Susie.ā€ Yet Boyle persisted with music, and began performing in school productions at the age of 12. Her teachers, recognising her talent, encouraged her to continue performing at school, but she graduated with few academic qualifications.
Boyle landed a job in the kitchen of West Lothian College, and enrolled in several government-training programs. Boyle continued singing for pleasure, and occasionally went to the theatre to hear professional singers. It was during one of these performances that she first heard the song ā€œI Dreamed a Dreamā€ performed in a production of Les Miserables. ā€œIt took my breath away,ā€ she says. ā€œIt was amazing.ā€
In 1995, Boyle went to Glasgow to audition for My Kind of People, she was nervous during the audition, and felt she didnā€™t do her performance justice, but her brother theorises that she was rejected because of her unconventional looks. She was summarily rejected from the show, but Boyle remained undeterred. She continued to sing at church, and at the local karaoke nights in her regular local pub the Happy Valley Hotel.
Susan suffered a personal loss in 1997, when her father passed away. After his death, she put her big dreams on hold to care for her ailing mother. As the youngest ā€“ and the only child in the family with no spouse or children ā€“ the burden of care fell on her shoulders. The mother and daughter, who were very close, often talked of Susanā€™s possible fame. Bridget Boyle supported her daughterā€™s talent, and encouraged her to take part in singing competitions. ā€œShe was the one who said I should enter Britainā€™s Got Talent. We used to watch it together,ā€ Susan later told reporters. ā€œShe thought I would win.ā€
Encouraged by her mother, Boyle used all of her savings in 1999 to pay for a professionally cut demo tape, which she sent to record companies, radio talent competitions, local and national TV. She continued to dream of a day when the world would recognise her talent. But Boyle faced hardship yet again in 2000, when she lost her sister Kathleen to an asthma attack. She took the loss hard, and turned to her music for solace.
Boyle began taking singing lessons from voice coach Fred O'Neil in 2002, hoping to improve her chances of fame. She made several amateur recordings for benefits and local performances, but seemed resigned to only local notoriety.
In 2007, Boyleā€™s mother passed away. The death crushed Susan, who subsequently withdrew from the local talent show and karaoke circuit. For nearly two years, Susan refused to sing. Instead, she lived alone in her motherā€™s house with her cat, Pebbles. Now unemployed, Boyle devoted her time to volunteering with the elderly at her local church, and rarely thought of singing.
But in August of 2008, Boyleā€™s singing coach urged her to tryout for the television talent show Britainā€™s Got Talent. Convinced that the performance would be a final tribute to her mother, Boyle auditioned in Glasgow She performed a rendition of ā€œI Dreamed a Dreamā€ from Les Miserables on the first round of the show, which was watched by over 10 million viewers when it aired on April 11, 2009.
Boyleā€™s humble looks provided a sharp contrast to her studio-quality voice. The performance stunned the audience and cynical judges, including Simon Cowell. Boyleā€™s performance was widely reported, and the clip became the most watched video on YouTube. She soon became the dark horse favourite of the competition, and her admission on the show that she had ā€œnever been kissedā€ endeared her to audiences.
After the show aired, Boyle became known as ā€œThe Woman Who Silenced Simon Cowell.ā€ Her overnight fame overwhelmed her, and on the eve of the final show, she threatened to quit the competition. .Although she narrowly missed first place in the 2009 competition, the singer stunned audiences and went on to sell 25 million records around the world
Critics of the loss say that Boyle may have lost due to an internet voting scam. Regardless, Boyle continues to perform. Her first album, I Dreamed a Dream was released in November 2009. It was a huge hit, selling over a million copies in six weeks, and topping charts in the United States and United Kingdom .
In June 2012, Boyle announced that she had begun recording a fourth album with a new producer, but hasnā€™t released any specific details about the project. On her website, Boyle wrote to fans about her newest album: ā€œIā€™m not going to give any hints at the moment, as I want this album to be more of a surprise, but Iā€™m having a great time and Iā€™m working with another fabulous guy, so Iā€™m hoping you will all love this new album
It took till 2013 before she played her first solo tour in July 2013 with 7 concert dates in Scotland before more concerts in England, Wales the North America, probably her proudest moment was singing "Mull of Kintyreā€ at the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Since then, the shy Susan, affectionately known as SuBo, has mostly kept under the radar but does make the odd appearance to perform at events. In an exclusive interview with the Mirror in 2016, she revealed she was forced to lose weight amid health concerns, and last year, she told fans that she had suffered a stroke.
While she has amassed a staggering fortune from her beautiful voice, Susan has continued to live modestly and has no interest in lavish holidays or flash cars. As she celebrates her birthday today, The Mirror takes a look at Susan's life now...
Susan's appearance on BGT last May came after a period of time away from the public eye, however she did perform at the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2021 after her UK Tour in 2020. The singer also took to the stage at the National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland in Edinburgh last summer.
Speaking about the performance, she said: ā€œI am thrilled to be performing at the Scottish Prayer Breakfast. My faith has always been my strength and backbone throughout my career.ā€ Susan performed I Dreamed A Dream and a version of The Prayer, duetting with fellow BGT star, Jai McDowall, who joined the Scot on her UK tour.
I've chosen a duet Susan performed with Elaine Paige, of course the original featured another fantastic Scottish singer, Barbara Dickson.

The Future
This video excerpt comes from the 100th Episode Special - originally aired in 2002 as a countdown to the show's 100th episode (S4xE24 "That Musical Episode"). The cast contemplates the characters' futures.
Fez
Wilmer wants Fez to become a man/lose his virginity, and some of the others jokingly predict he'll become a ladies' man.
Check. Fez loses his virginity in season 6 of the show, and grows more suave and confident with the ladies in season 7 and 8 (and in That '90s Show, too). He ends up running his own hair salon/being a small business owner, not a dance instructor or an alien (*lol*).
Kelso
Debra Jo predicts he'll get the highest score on the SAT's and get into Harvard - Ashton echoes this guess that he ends up being a secret genius.
Check. In S5xE10 "The Crunge", the gang gets their SAT scores back and Kelso's is the highest. We don't know what his career is in That '90s Show - if he stuck with becoming a cop, or if he ended up pursuing something else.
Jackie
Mila predicts she will be captain of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders - at least, this was her wish in high school (among others). Wilmer sees her owning a beauty salon (Oh the irony... Chez Fez *lol*) or a shopping mall.
Unchecked. We don't know much about how Jackie's future ended up, but she's not in Dallas. She's in Point Place with Michael and their son Jay. Her career is also a total question mark in That '90s Show - did she stick with TV, the direction she was heading in seasons 7 and 8, or pivot to something else?
Hyde
The cast jokingly suggests that Hyde starts working for the government or becomes a spy for the CIA in adulthood - the very antithesis of what he'd stood for in his youth. The irony would be funny.
Unchecked. As the show ends, Hyde is single and W.B. has just given him the full reins to Grooves record store. Where he went from there is unclear. His fate in the '90s is unknown (maybe he is off working for the Man, man).
Red and Kitty
Debra Jo predicts that 25 years later, Red and Kitty would be sitting on a cloud somewhere together (and that Kitty's finally thin, and Red has a cocktail šŸ¤£).
Check, maybe? 25 years after the show ends would be 2005, and Red and Kitty could be dead at that point. But we get to see that ten years before that, in 1995, they're enjoying life with their granddaughter!
Donna
Laura predicts Donna will be running for president or owning her own company. Wilmer pictures her traveling and exploring her independence.
Unchecked. In the finale Donna is single and finally heading off to college, but appears to reunite with Eric on the driveway when he returns. In 1995 she and Eric are married and have a teenage daughter, and Donna's a published writer (I think Laura would approve of this career for her, too, so I'm tempted to give a half-point *lol*). They live in Chicago.
Eric
Debra Jo thinks he's going to be a sensitive artist. Laura mentions that Eric wants to stay here and raise a family. Topher and Debra Jo both want Eric and Donna to get back together.
Check and unchecked. No on the sensitive artist (*lol*) - Eric decides that he wants to become a teacher at the end of season 7 and goes to Africa to pursue this. In That '90s Show he's a professor and he teaches a course about the religion of Star Wars. He and Donna do get back together and they do raise a family together, though in Chicago, not Point Place.

TAEHYUN: ā€œI think once youā€™ve felt your fansā€™ presence itā€™s impossible not to work hardā€
TOMORROW X TOGETHER The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION comeback interview
2023.02.09
Tumblr media
Affection, a sense of purpose, MOA, the membersā€”these are what keep TAEHYUN moving forward tirelessly down an endless road.
I saw the ā€œindoor lightingā€ picture you uploaded on Weverse. Looks like youā€™re working out a lot. (laughs)
TAEHYUN: There are few places you can see progress faster than you would expect, but thatā€™s one of the perks of working out. I keep at it because I feel a sense of responsibility to become a perfect model for when I do commercials or other photoshoots so itā€™s a habit now. Now I sing and dance so much that itā€™s a form of insane cardio so I only work out enough to make up for losing my muscles.
You also work out with your Eonbuk Homies.
TAEHYUN: They came to Yongsan to meet me just yesterday. Only a few of the six of us were close at first. It started as maybe three of us from second year of high school calling ourselves the Eonbuk Homies and we added more and more people until we ended up with six. That was back when I debuted and my friends were preparing for the university entrance exam. We learned to rely on each other during that time because it was the hardest time of our lives. They knew me before I started down this career path, and when I was a trainee, and once I became an artist. They understand and respect all aspects of me.
Most of the people in the Eonbuk Homies were born in 2002, so people must bring the 2022 World Cup up to you a lot. What did you think of the recent World Cup in Qatar?
TAEHYUN: I loved that Korea made it to the round of 16 and I applauded the other Asian countries for putting on great performances, too. I watched the finals with the Eonbuk Homies and we were really rooting for Messi. Seeing France and Argentina go to the finals and then Argentina winning was really ā€¦ (laughs) There will be a lot of naysaying if there is a TV show with such a storyline.
You wrote an overview of each game on Weverse, too.
TAEHYUN: Weverse is fun and I have a habit of showing up there, and I show up there even more often because I think itā€™s healthy to have a two-way relationship with MOA.
Tumblr media
I can tell youā€™re dedicated by the way you say you ā€œshow upā€ to Weverse. You also posted a demo version of a song you wrote called ā€œRingā€ on there.
TAEHYUN: After watching the movie We Made a Beautiful Bouquet, I could really relate to lyrics like, ā€œOne day [we] meet and love each other like that,ā€ and, ā€œProbably because reality will get between us.ā€ The movieā€™s about how the love is as beautiful as a bouquet at first but it eventually wiltsā€”and thereā€™s nothing dreamy about that at all. I thought thereā€™s probably a lot of couples who break up over realistic and unavoidable reasons and I wrote that into the lyrics. I actually think that the love pretty much everyone has is meant to be. (laughs) Thatā€™s why the demo version was a love song. The album was about breakups, so the song was reimagined as a breakup song.
Did you write the lyrics in Japanese?
TAEHYUN: I write the lines I can in Japanese and get them checked by my Japanese teacher. I say something like, ā€œIā€™m going to use these as lyrics. Does any of it sound awkward?ā€
How are you so good at English and Japanese? (laughs)
TAEHYUN: Well, Iā€™m a sports fan and a music fan, so I think I got better from looking up a lot of interviews with athletes and artists. And Iā€™m good at my mother tongue! (laughs) I think you have to be good at your first language in order to be good at a second one. I think I have an advantage there because I love to talk in Korean, even. I work hard at it because I want to talk using my own words.
And you sang in Indonesia and the Philippines in the local languages at your concerts.
TAEHYUN: Even though overseas MOA canā€™t really see us like in Korea unless weā€™re on tour, they still show us so much love, so we wanted to give them something special. I figured that, even though we canā€™t visit there that often, our sincerity would come across more if we sang in the languages of those countries.
Tumblr media
You were getting ready for your year-end performances even while on your world tour. What was that like?
TAEHYUN: I was quarantined in Korea because of COVID-19 while the other members went to Chile, so I practiced the choreography alone first before reuniting with the group, then we rented a practice studio while staying in the US. We always started early and finished late so we would have more time to practice. I was worried whether we could do a good enough job considering how hard the first version looked and how little time we had but after we gave up our vacation time and practiced really hard it slowly started to come together. So when the performance was done, I thought about how it always seemed like it wasnā€™t going to be good but then it was, and also how proud and lucky I was to have the other members. But on the other hand, I wondered if they keep giving us hard stuff because we manage to do it every time. (laughs)
Wasnā€™t it tough practicing?
TAEHYUN: I was desperate. I felt sorry because there were all those MOA waiting for us ever since we dropped our album in early 2022 and I was desperate for an opportunity to show that weā€™re different now and could put on a good show.
What exactly did you want to show them?
TAEHYUN: That we can fill a stage, just the five of us. That weā€™re still good no matter which one of us is center stage. That weā€™re good at performing live.
And what about you personally?
TAEHYUN: Doing things the way I was taught, properly, is both a strength of mine and a weakness. Iā€™m really used to doing group dances, but I think I still need some studying and to sharpen my skills for when I have to do a part alone. So I thought I need to bring up my quality level to be on par with someone like YEONJUN who has natural talent. I thought that would put him at ease. Recently, YEONJUN did ā€œLonely Boy (The tattoo on my ring finger)ā€ and the four of us did a performance, and when it was all done, YEONJUN said he was never worried about us even from the startā€”that when he saw us perform, he thought we looked cool and everything would work out. Then he said he didnā€™t tell us we were doing a good job while practicing because he thought weā€™d be even better if he didnā€™t say anything. I thought we managed to take off some of his burden because he could at least take a short break while we were performing.
Is it true that you personally approached the BTS members for advice when you were doing a cover of ā€œDNAā€ for 2022 SBS Gayo Daejeon?
TAEHYUN: Iā€™ve been talking with Hobi since a while back, and the best part of being with the same label as people at that level is that you can get their advice. I grabbed each of them to ask them about ā€œDNAā€ and they all said the same surprising thing: ā€œTry relaxing a bit and youā€™ll look cooler.ā€ So I passed that on to the other members, too. But itā€™s BTSā€™s song and when all those people are watching you, itā€™s not quite as easy to relax as you might think. (laughs)
Why is it you put your all into each and every performance?
TAEHYUN: Thereā€™s going to be people who are passionate and people who arenā€™t no matter what field youā€™re in. We decided upfront to be serious about it. All of us agreed that people would be able to understand that if they can see how full of grit we are. Iā€™ve been in this field for years and the people who work hard really stand out. So we said weā€™re going to be those kinds of people no matter how many years weā€™re at it and hold onto our grit.
Tumblr media
You revealed a bit of ā€œSugar Rush Rideā€ at the 2022 Melon Music Awards. Unlike your usual uplifting vocals, you sang in a seductive and sexy voice.
TAEHYUN: Everyone has their strengthsā€”some people are best suited to uplifting music, others sing like angels, and then thereā€™s people who sing really deep and soulful. I like to sing songs in a really clear voice no matter what. But you have to sing that song a little rough to make it really work. Thereā€™s a lot of parts that require singing sexily and a little over the top, and those were the parts I had to focus on bringing to life.
How do you manage to bring out a different style in every song?
TAEHYUN: Iā€™m actively involved in the direction when I record vocals. I usually tell the recording engineer, ā€œIā€™ll do that part again,ā€ or make a part and record while talking it over with the producer. I think I should play it safe and dance the way Iā€™m taught by the experts for now, but Iā€™m more involved when it comes to singing lately because I work on songs too and have started to be able to see the big picture of how itā€™s going to turn out.
Were any of the songs changed to incorporate your ideas?
TAEHYUN: I changed how I express the lines in ā€œFarewell, Neverlandā€ from the demo version and it turned out great. We have a six-person group chat with Producer Bang and he sent us a message saying he was amazed how the recording turned out so well. I said, ā€œThank you. But didnā€™t you think ā€˜Tinnitus (Wanna be a rock)ā€™ sounds really good, too?ā€ (laughs)
Youā€™re in the credits for ā€œTinnitus,ā€ right? (laughs) It takes guts to put your ideas out there like that, doesnā€™t it?
TAEHYUN: One good thing about the producers we work with and all the people at BIGHIT MUSIC is that theyā€™re open-minded so thereā€™s no issues when giving them ideas. When I toss out an idea, itā€™s backed up by how hard Iā€™ve worked to come this far, so one reason I work as hard as I do is so I can give my thoughts on things. It's like Iā€™m taking one major, this one thing Iā€™m really good at, but I believe I can double major with something else if I try really hard.
I think effort is one of the best talents a person can have. (laughs)
TAEHYUN: I used to think I wasnā€™t born with any, but now I think I was born with a strong will toward effort. It turns out it was a talent all along. Itā€™s actually a talent to be able to put in the effort without much motivation.
Tumblr media
You sing about arrested development on the latest album, but you seem to aspire toward growth more than anyone else.
TAEHYUN: I want to grow any way I can because growing means Iā€™m alive and itā€™s how I demonstrate my identity. Putting on way better performances and singing good songs come first. All five of us make songs and I aspire to make good music. Being a good person is important, too. It's important to behave like artists, too, but this is a job where we work with other people, so itā€™s also important that the work is fun and nobody gets their feelings hurt so that the staff will feel affection for the whole team.
Have you never wanted to put your development on hold and give into temptation?
TAEHYUN: So many times. (laughs) But I never really give into temptation, no matter how tempting it is. Thereā€™s temptation constantly: today, yesterday, the day before thatā€”every day. I think about sleeping more, taking a longer break, going home without practicingā€”but I realize Iā€™m practicing anyway. Iā€™m always practicing so I can improve myself musically, but sometimes it feels like an endless road because thereā€™s no perfect solutions like in math.
But what is it that keeps you moving forward?
TAEHYUN: Affectionā€™s first. Iā€™m still in love with singing and dancing. Secondā€™s my sense of purpose and third is MOA. I think, once youā€™ve felt your fansā€™ presenceā€”once youā€™ve seen your fans singing along in concertā€”itā€™s impossible not to work hard. And I think that leads to a sense of purpose in the end. Fourth are the other members. If I work hard, I think itā€™s helpful to the group and to the other members.
What youā€™re saying seems to be reflected in ā€œHappy Foolsā€ (feat. Coi Leray).
TAEHYUN: I think it is an unbelievable blessing if youā€™re doing the work that you want to do. I also experienced a clash between things I want to do and things I have to do and Iā€™ve ended up doing the things I have to do. There is a line that I wrote that goes, ā€œThereā€™s so many things to do but I donā€™t wanna do them.ā€ There are also lyrics like Ā ā€œPeople say the futureā€™s always more important than now,ā€ ā€œLocked in a sweet moment,ā€ and, ā€œEvery dayā€™s so happy.ā€ The most memorable line for me is the ā€œPeople say the futureā€™s always more important than now.ā€
Whyā€™s that?
TAEHYUN: Everyoneā€™s thoughts are future-oriented, right? Itā€™s actually more fun and happier if you donā€™t study right now but grown ups tell you to study for the future. Would the happiness of the future or tomorrow be more valuable than the happiness of today? I donā€™t think so. Thatā€™s why I wrote ā€œPeople say the futureā€™s always more important than now, but Iā€™m not planning on doing it.ā€ But Iā€™m the type that doesn't practice what I preach because Iā€™ll still be studying. (laughs)
Tumblr media
You helped write the lyrics to ā€œTinnitus (Wanna be a rock).ā€
TAEHYUN: Itā€™s my favorite song of the album and when I first heard the theme I was like ā€œthis is insane.ā€ Everyone is bound to meet a hurdle. Letā€™s say if Iā€™m doing rock, then I will someday bump against this doubt that I will never become like Nirvana or AC/DC. That is why I talked about how I would rather become a rock and do nothing than be a star that feels empty and even hears tinnitus when the funā€™s over.
Whatā€™s the meaning behind the lyrics you wrote?
TAEHYUN: ā€œRockstar minus star, just a rock, ok?ā€ is just a pun. (laughs) Thereā€™s a line that goes, ā€œI donā€™t have that kind of talent or deep backstory,ā€ and I think those lyrics are relatable for many people, but I think the key point of that line is the ā€œdeep backstory.ā€ Groundbreaking artists like Kurt Cobain, Eminem and Justin Bieber struggled along or have start-from-the-bottom stories, but I really donā€™t have anything like that. (laughs) So I thought it would be fun to be honest and sing about how Iā€™m not as gifted as them and donā€™t have their backstories.
I donā€™t think youā€™d be satisfied being ā€œjust a rockā€ though.
TAEHYUN: We sing about not having the potential to become rock stars in ā€œTinnitus,ā€ so I thought it would be fun to write a song later called something like ā€œWeā€™re Rock Stars Nowā€ if we do become groundbreaking artists. There was a time when I struggled with that and wanted to be a rock, but, noā€”Iā€™m gonna be a rock star. Iā€™m a rock star.

Looking at people responding to that video of a high school circa 2002 and realizing that a lot of my demeanor and general outlook has been informed by the fact that id found a solid niche that kept people from fucking with me by the time that i was in early high school. already by then i had slid comfortably into the identity of "smart snarky person who keeps to himself but will deliver a withering take-down the moment you ask him his opinion on anything" that both classmates and teachers found enjoyable to be around. i cant really say it was masking. it was more like an optimized build capitalizing on the attributes that were already there. but also, my high school was just not a place where all that much bullying happened? it was middle school were i saw and personally experienced a whole hell of a lot more of that. to the degree that i thought movies and tv shows depicting bullying as a high school thing was like, fake

Screw it, brief reviews of Jason Bateman's filmography pre-Arrested Development
(there are only 4 pics but the post is long)
1981 Little House on the prairie - He was there for 1 season and already became so popular they made the grand finale all about him being a proof that God exists lol
Tumblr media
1983 Just a little more love - can't find this one
1982 Silver spoons - they had to fire him because the second he appeared on screen nobody gave a crap about the other kid, iconic, I've only had Derek Taylor for 21 episodes but if anything happened to him yk yk..
Tumblr media
1984 Knight Rider - Derek Taylor steals a car
1985 Robert Kennedy and his Times - I'm sure he's in it somewhere but it's like SIX hours long and incredibly boring
1984 The Fantastic World of DC Cooper - Derek Taylor strikes again
1984 It's your Move - Arrested Development for 6th graders, this show is SO fucking funny the parents insisted on killing it together with his Derek-sona for good.
Tumblr media
1985 Right to kill - blink and you'll miss him, this is his sister's movie
1986 Mr Belvedere - MILF CHASER
1986 Can you feel me dancing - a commissioned tv movie to show off Justine Bateman's range
1986 St Elsewhere - see, Dave Hogan can do drama too (no)
1986 Valerie/ The Hogan family - his most famous role pre-AD and I genuinely don't understand why, stale bread even for a family sitcomā„¢. Cancelled for being the only show that was normal about aids thanks to Jason. They also dyed his hair to a different shade of auburn each season for some reason lol
1987 Bates Motel - this was supposed to be a sequel to Psycho šŸ¤Ø
1987 Teen Wold too - words cannot describe how much I hate this movie and everything about it
1987 Matlock - he's playing "Jason Bateman, the star of Valerie" only 1 year after they fired Valerie from Valerie hmm...
1987 Moving target - this was fine
1988 Our House - if your kids think giving 10k to a teenager will get them a record label at 13 it's on them, he did nothing wrong
1988 Crossing the mob - you can watch this but god at what cost, it's so grainy you can barely see their faces (okay movie tho)
Tumblr media
1989 Breaking the rules - commissioned to show that he can do some "serious" acting, a tragic mistake on everyone's part
1991 Necessary roughness - Scott Bakula simps, I understand, no I seriously get it
1992 A Taste for killing - for every good movie (prev) you get 2 bad ones
1994 Confessions: two faces of evil - COPAGANDA
1994 This can't be love - *looks up synonyms for CUTE*
1994 Black sheep - can't find this one either
1995 Hart to Hart - he was so annoying they made him believe he's related to Donald Trump I can't even rgsthsrth
1995 An affectionate look at fatherhood - can't find this one eitherĀ²
1995 Burke's law - this show is so camp you need to WATCH THE DUEL
1995 Simon - the writing is atrocious, he's trying SO hard to make it work while Harland Williams recites every line as if he had just learnt to read. Tragically, a must watch, I wish it existed in HD
Tumblr media
1996 Ned and Stacey - a sitcom star playing a sitcom star in a sitcom making fun of Friends, 10/10
1997 Chicago sons - 3 polish brothers live together, Jared Paladecki isn't in this eventhough there are at least 4 people that look like him
1998 George and Leo - if this came out today AO3 would be full of this elderly gay couple
1999 Love stinks - not mine but yk
Tumblr media
2000 Rude awakening - the absence of a laugh track caught me off guard, he's doing his best Bud Bundy impression down to the tragic goatee
2001 Some of my best friends - after this many cancelled sitcoms you stop seeing AD as a show that's simply good but as a miracle
2002 The Jake effect - if Scrubs was about hs teachers
2002 The sweetest thing - nobody cares about the men this is the penis song movie
2002 No way out - this is like Cary Elwes-kind of bad
2003 Sol Goode - blink and you'll miss him (idk what's even happening)
2003 Twillight Zone -someone get him an Emmy for trying to bribe a ghost of a kid he unintentionally murdered

ā–ŗ BIOGRAPHY
Kamari was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to two over-the-moon parents. Though she only spent her younger years in South Africa, her hometown still holds some of the best memories of her life. From dancing around with her mother in the kitchen, to singing with her father in a hammock. Her parents moved to Denver, CO, due to her father's job in the tech industry. He worked so hard to go back to school in order to provide once Kamari was an announced pregnancy. Little did he know that would uproot his family to America. Though, Kamari was excited as the 5 year old she was, that she was going on a plane and starting anew. Kamari easily rooted in Denver. Her charisma made her lots of friends, and her intellect made her somewhat of a teacher's pet. She was in Honor Society once she hit high school, and her dating life was overtly active. Even with her mother's worry, it was her father telling her mother to let her live her life how she wanted. Dance was all her idea. She excelled in any and every type of dance class she was enrolled in, and she always wanted to learn more. From belly dancing to tap classes, Kamari was absorbing it all like a sponge. It was to the point that she was put into competitive dance courses and competed for all of her high school years. She even went on to tour with a couple pop stars before going off to college. When granted a full ride scholarship to USC, Kamari was ecstatic. Her parents, though excited and proud, also faced some sadness with watching their young girl go off into the world without them. Kamari took up sports medicine as a major in order to appease her parents as she continues to dance on the USC dance team. Nowadays, Kamari is in Denver, CO, between semesters. She works as a dancer still - going on tour with some of the stars when offered. She also works as a dance instructor at the same place she took lessons as a kid; her side gig being that of a front desk receptionist at The Fitness Factory.
ā–ŗ PERSONALITY
Kamari is a party girl through and through. She's usually the life of the party, as well; Always able to peel people from the walls and getting everyone in high spirits with dancing. Kamari is a winner. She's so used to picking up various sports and skills and just being good at it. She's not used to losing, and that might be a downfall but to Kamari, it keeps her in tip-top shape. You can usually find her with a couple people around her desk; Gregarious to a fault and also a major flirt, Kamari attracts people to her like a magnet. She tends to lead people on both in a romantic sense, but also in a friend sense. Everyone thinks they're Kamari's best friend, but little do they know that they aren't. But, if you genuinely are one of her close friends, Kamari is reliable and a great person to go to when one's stuck in a rut. Kamari is basically FUN personified, okay? Okay.
ā–ŗ PLOTS
They're just girls, breaking hearts: Gimmie Kamari's girl group of friends! They're always out together and they gossip and shop together. Definitely a group that turns heads wherever they show up. Fun and wild vibes, all around! - OPEN (x3)
Jealousy, jealousy: Someone who is Kamari's frenemy who also is jealous of her and vice versa. These two attempt to one-up one another and their friendship is basically running on competition. - OPEN
Girls just wanna have fun: These are the friends who reach out to Kamari when they're in a funk and need to let their hair down. Definitely a balancing act of a friendship. They help to ground Kamari when she gets to be too much. - OPEN (x2)
My favorite bra lives in your dresser: Kamari is head over heels for this person, but they claim it's just casual. Kamari is starting to get frustrated and this person can tell. She's trying to be the cool girl in this situation, but she's ready to raise hell and confront them. - OPEN
Getcha' head in the game: This is someone who tags along with Kamari to games. They also tend to play basketball or even kick a soccer ball around with her. Very wholesome vibes of enjoying one another's company and friendly competition. - OPEN
My kink is watching you ruin your life: Exes on bad terms. We can talk about the specifics, but Kamari genuinely hates this ex's guts. It's almost a screaming match every time they cross paths. - OPEN

Dodi, a boss that was is going to be in Chaos;Domain, though likely with a resprite. This character actually has a long and detailed story behind it. Basically, when I was in first grade, one indoor recess the teachers put on Disney's Aladdin. I really enjoyed the movie for what it was, that was until near the end of the movie where Jaffar took control of the Genie's lamp and ordered the genie to fling the tower that Aladdin was in to the North Pole.
That's when the teacher shut off the movie and said that's where the movie ended, to be continued in Aladdin 2. I ended up being super freaked out about this cliffhanger ending and thought Jaffar actually WON. I ended up skipping school on the day they showed Aladdin 2, but later they showed Aladdin 3 and everyone was fine so I assumed Jaffar lost in Aladdin 2, but I had no idea HOW he lost or what sort of damage was done to their world under the control of an all-powerful Jaffar. So, I made up MY OWN plot for Aladdin 2, as I was too scared to watch Aladdin 2 which I assumed to be this super dark scary movie and didn't even want to rewatch Aladdin 1, which I enjoyed, because I was afraid of being re-traumatized by the "cliffhanger." But I still watched Aladdin 3 all the time on this bootleg DVD that had every Disney and dream works movie (as of 2009) on it.
During this period of time (around 2009 to 2011) I came up with this bizarre fan fiction universe crossover between Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Ninjago, Webkinz, Animal Jam, and a bunch of other things that was like Kingdom Hearts if it was written by an autistic 8yo. And like Kingdom Hearts there were clones, artificial humans, ancient prophesies, relics of mass destruction, doomsday cults, multiple apocalypses and universe-shattering wars, not-deities, and tons of other stuff. Believe it or not, this series was the origin of the Chronicles of Chronicles series, albeit a very early form/incarnation of it.
The original big bad of this saga was a guy named "The Emperor" who was HEAVILY based off Palpatine from Star Wars and had two underlings, Dodi (pronounced "Do-die" like the city Dubai but with die instead of bai) the snake charmer and Flon (pronounced full-on like colon) the evil fairy. Dodi was pretty much 1-to-1 with Jaffar with just his name changed and little else, but Flon's backstory and origin is an even weirder example that I'll get to once we get to her sprite. The big bad of the later arcs was Lord Drakos, heavily based off the principal of Gaithersburg Elementary, who loved abusing and manipulating me for his own twisted amusement.
But anyway YEARS later, like around 2014 or so, I discovered that the teacher showing us Aladdin all those years ago completely lied, and there was a whole extra 15 minutes of Aladdin I didn't know existed where Jaffar was defeated in an epic battle and the world was saved. And how did I discover this? A freaking Watch Mojo video. Something about "top 10 most evil villains in Disney" and Jaffar was number 5. During Jaffar's section they showed footage from the last 15 minutes of Aladdin which absolutely blew my mind that there was a whole extra 15 minutes of runtime I completely missed.
After I spent a summer afternoon rewatching THE ENTIRETY OF Aladdin on some shady website, I did some research on Wikipedia and figured out that Aladdin 2 and 3 were actually just cheap cash-ins made in the early 2000s that also served as both the pilot and the series finale of the Aladdin TV show, which aired from 1999 to 2002. The first movie had a beginning, middle, and end and DIDN'T end on a cliffhanger like I was led to believe, and Aladdin 2 and 3 were unnecessary made for TV sequels given almost zero budget. (though I still have an affinity for Aladdin 3, even if the animation sucks ass) This is also where I learned that the overwhelming majority of "Disney sequels" that I grew up with on that bootleg DVD were low budget cash-grabs not even made by the main Disney studio. So yeah, my childhood was a lie and Jaffar never won in Aladdin 1. It's going to be a fun story to share with my future nieces and nephews, though.
In battle, Dodi primarily uses fire elemental arts along with his "hypnosis" and "wrap" arts. He's a lot easier of a boss than the first one, King Kookookaka, that's for sure. The Medusa to that game's Minotaur, to say the least. (SMT4 reference)

The actor Brigit Forsyth, who has died aged 83, made her name as Thelma in the BBC television series Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? One critic described Thelma as so prim that she could turn the lifting of a lace curtain into an art form.
Dick Clement and Ian La Frenaisā€™s creation, which ran from 1973 to 1974, was the sequel to the popular 1960s sitcom The Likely Lads, which starredĀ Rodney BewesĀ and James Bolam as Bob Ferris and Terry Collier, two single north-east England factory workers who share a flat and the same interests ā€“ women, drink and football.
Thelma Chambers was brought in as a girlfriend for the upwardly mobile Bob, now in the white-collar class with a house, car and annual holiday on the Costa Brava, scoffed at by Terry, who clings on to his working-class roots. Thelma and Bob were married halfway through the two series ofĀ the show.
ā€œUp until then, I had done a lot of drama on telly,ā€Ā said Forsyth. ā€œIf I wasnā€™t being murdered, I was murdering somebody or I was a disturbed art teacher. I was playing quite a lot of deranged people, so comedy was a nice change.ā€
She created laughs again with the sitcom Sharon and Elsie (1984-85), in which she co-starred as the middle-class Elsie Beecroft alongside Janette Beverley as the more down-to-earth Sharon Wilkes, two employees in a greetings card manufacturing company.
But Forsythā€™s own favourite television part was Francine Pratt in Playing the Field (1998-2002), the on- and off-pitch womenā€™s football drama created byĀ Kay Mellor. Her character, who hates the game, is married to the Castlefield Bluesā€™ sponsor, played by Ricky Tomlinson, and keeps him happy in return for designer clothes and other luxuries.
ā€œI have never played awful glamour before,ā€ she said. ā€œI had a blond wig, six-inch heels, makeup and my bosom hitched up high.ā€
Forsyth was born in Malton, North Yorkshire, to Scottish parents, Anne (nee Forsyth), an artist, and Frank Connell, an architect and town planner, and brought up inĀ Edinburgh. She was mesmerised by Stanley Baxterā€™s performances as a pantomime dame at the cityā€™s Kingā€™s theatre and, aged 18, landed her own first lead role, as Sarat Carn, on her way to the gallows, in Charlotte Hastingsā€™s play Bonaventure with the Makars amateur drama group.
But when she left St Georgeā€™s school, Edinburgh, her parents insisted she learn a skill, so she trained as a secretary. After a couple of jobs, she headed for London and Rada (1958-60), where she won the Emile Littler prize.
She began her professional career back in Edinburgh with the Gateway theatre company (1960-61) before moving on to theĀ TheatreĀ Royal, Lincoln (1961-62) and the Arthur Brough Players in Folkestone (1962). With other actors already named Brigit McConnell and Bridget Oā€™Connell, she changed her professional name to Forsyth on her return to Lincoln in 1962.
At the Edinburgh festival three years later, she played one of the witches in a headline-making production of Macbeth. ā€œThat show caused an absolute uproar because they wanted the witches to have the bodies of young girls and the faces of old women, and they wanted us to have our top half naked,ā€ Forsyth recalled. ā€œBut theĀ Earl of Harewood, who was running the EIF at the time, said ā€˜Noā€™. So they put nipple caps on us, which looked absolutely disgusting ā€“ and they used to drop off each night. It was absolutely hysterical.ā€
Later, in the West End, Forsyth played Annie in The Norman Conquests (Globe, now Gielgud, and Apollo theatres, 1974-76) and Dusa in the feminist play Dusa, Fish, Stas and Vi (Mayfair theatre, 1976-77). She put her TV breakthrough down to cutting her hair short. ā€œIt proved a tremendously lucky omen,ā€ she said.
That break came with Adam Smith (1972), in which she played the younger daughter of the title character, a Scottish minister (Andrew Keir). The director, Brian Mills, then worked with Forsyth on the psychological thriller Holly (1972), when she took the part of a young art teacher kidnapped by a mentally unstable student. Forsyth and Mills married in 1976.
Television roles kept on coming. She was Veronica, one of the product-promotion team, in The Glamour Girls (1980-82), Harriet in the inter-generational sitcom Tom, Dick and Harriet (1982-83), and Helen Yeldham, a hotelier, in the 1989 series of Boon.
There were also appearances in soap opera: as GP Judith Vincent in The Practice (1985-86); Babs Fanshawe, Ken Barlowā€™s escort agency date who dies of a heart attack, in a 1998 Coronation Street episode; Delphine LaClair, a sales rep for a French company interested in buying Rodney Blackstockā€™s vineyards, for two short runs in Emmerdale (2005 and 2006); Cressida, mother of the millionaire Nate Tenbury-Newent, in Hollyoaks in 2013; and three roles in Doctors between 2000 and 2012.
Forsyth also played the miserable Madge, who frustrates her sister Mavisā€™s attempts at a relationship with Granville, in the sitcom sequel Still Open All Hours (2013-19).
A cellist from the age of nine, Forsyth starred as the real-life virtuoso Beatrice Harrison in a 2004 tour of The Cello and the Nightingale. Also on tour, she was a remarkably believable Queen Elizabeth II in A Question of Attribution (2000) and played Marie in Calendar Girls (2008). ā€œIā€™m Mrs Frosty-Knickers, the one who doesnā€™t approve of it all.ā€
In 2017, she played a terminally ill musician in the stage comedy Killing Time, written by her daughter, Zoe Mills, who acted alongside her. At the time, Forsyth revealed that her maternal grandfather, a GP in Yorkshire, had helped dying patients to end their lives. Declaring herself a supporter of euthanasia,Ā she said: ā€œHe bumped off probably loads of people with doses of morphine.ā€
In 1999, Forsyth separated from her husband, but they remained friends until his death in 2006. She is survived by their children, Ben and Zoe.
